
Jay Fox is the Executive Director of the Arkansas State Golf Association (ASGA) having served in that position since 1991,
He is a two-term past president and former board member of the Mid-South Golf Association, and also won the associations’ Mid-South Mid-Amateur in 2003 and 2005 – competing against amateurs in six southern states. As a member of the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA), comprised of staff members from state and regional golf associations, Canada, Puerto Rico, Scotland and Sweden, he has won the IAGA Championship 10 times in 18 attempts.
Jay was named the ASGA Player of the Year in 1983 and 1989 and has won more than 50 ASGA Designated Tournaments. Golf allowed him to compete in such places as Mexico City, Bogota, Columbia and Lima, Peru, where he finished second in the Carlos Raffo Cup – an international tournament at the Lima Golf Club.
A native of Bald Knob, Arkansas, Jay earned both a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE) and Master of Science in Education (MSE) degree from the University of Central Arkansas, where was a two-time AIC Champion. In 2008, Fox was the first golfer inducted into the UCA Sports Hall of Fame.
As Executive Director of the ASGA, Jay helped establish new programs and services including the Arkansas Golf Hall of Fame and Junior Girls Player of the Year; Mid-Senior & Super-Senior Players of the Year ; and the “Golf the Natural State” license plate to help raise money for junior golf. Jay is a former board member of The First Tee of Central Arkansas, Jack Stephens Youth Golf Academy.
