A Few Quick Thoughts

nathan_green1_wideweb__470x304,0Watching Nathan Green implode on number 17 at PGA National (This is brutal). He drops his tee ball in the drink on the 177-yard par 3 but appears to be able to get a club on it. Three strokes and a mud-soaked pair of pants later, and he’s advanced the ball six feet out of the water hazard and remains buried in the gunch.

Lesson #1 – Take the drop. It’s only one stroke.

Lesson #2 – Once you commit to blasting it out of the water, and it fails, you might as well go ahead and go down swinging. You’re muddy, embarrassed and still subject to a penalty if you pull it out and take a drop… might as well keep hacking now. You’re guaranteed to make someone’s highlight reel.

Update — Green finished with a triple bogey six.

camillo-villegasCongrats to Camillo on his win at The Honda Classic. Solid play all tournament… He’s clearly playing the most consistent golf right now.

The weekend has come to a close, and it was three perfect days for golf. I was only able to play Friday afternoon but was reminded that the golf swing is no different than anything else we start in life… in order for it to produce successful results, you must finish it as strongly as you begin. (Ask Bob how many times he heard me say, “Just finish your swing once… just ONCE.”

We told you on Saturday’s show about the new Web site and what we’re offering. I’m still working on the details like uploading audio and video, but if there’s anything you want us to feature or if you have some thoughts, let me know at qvpro@sbcglobal.net.
